This Privacy Policy explains how Nomemo ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Nomemo mobile application.

Nomemo is a language learning app designed to help users practice vocabulary and phrases with a focus on long-term memory. We aim to collect as little data as possible and keep user-created learning content on the device.

Short summary: User-created learning content such as languages, phrases, translations, and progress is stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name or email address. However, the app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, which may collect certain app usage, device, and diagnostic information to help us improve stability and performance.

1. Information You Enter in the App

When you use Nomemo, you may enter and store information such as:

languages you are learning (including base and target language pairs)
phrases or words you add
translations or related notes you enter
learning progress and review results

This information is stored locally on your device in the app's local database. Based on the current functionality of the app, this learning content is not sent to our own servers.

2. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Nomemo uses the following third-party services provided by Google Firebase:

Firebase Analytics
Firebase Crashlytics

These services help us understand app performance, improve usability, and identify technical issues.

Firebase Analytics may collect information about how the app is used, such as:

general app interactions
device and app information
usage patterns and engagement data

Firebase Crashlytics may collect diagnostic information such as:

crash logs and stack traces
app state information at the time of a crash
device type, operating system version, and technical identifiers

This information is processed by Google Firebase in accordance with Google's own privacy and data handling practices.

3. Voice Input

Nomemo may offer voice input to help you enter phrases or translations more quickly.

This feature uses the device's built-in or system speech recognition services. The app itself does not directly record, store, or control raw microphone audio. When you use voice input, speech processing may be handled by your device's operating system or its speech recognition provider.

4. Notifications

Nomemo may send local notifications on your device to remind you when it is time to review your learning lists.

These notifications are generated locally on your device. They are not sent from our server, and no account or remote messaging backend is used for these reminders.

5. Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect Directly

Nomemo does not require user registration and does not intentionally collect the following directly through the app:

your name
your email address
payment information
account credentials

6. How Your Information Is Used

Information handled by the app is used for the following purposes:

to store and display your learning lists and progress locally
to provide review reminders and app functionality
to improve app stability and performance through analytics and crash reporting
to diagnose and fix technical issues

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

User-created learning content stored locally in the app is not shared with our own servers based on the app's current functionality.

However, certain technical and usage information may be processed by third parties that provide services used by the app, specifically Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.

8. Data Retention

Learning content you create in the app is stored locally on your device and generally remains there until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.

Data processed by Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics is retained according to the retention settings and policies of those services.

9. Your Choices

You can stop using the app at any time.

You can delete app content from within the app where supported.
You can remove locally stored app data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
You can choose not to use voice input.
You can manage app notifications through your device settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Nomemo is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through account registration or similar features. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to keep the app and its integrations up to date and to reduce security risks. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-Party Services

Nomemo uses third-party services that may process data under their own terms and privacy policies, including:

system speech recognition services available on your device

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
